Meet Kara:
As the youngest of the Fortune girls, Kara is an energetic and encouraging sister. She is always ready to be a part of the action, and uses her gifts and talents to serve the rest of us… especially by playing the piano for our services. Her kind spirit and joyful countenance has radiated the light of Christ in many different circles, and people often say, “You can’t help but love Kara!”
She enjoys sewing, reading, riding horses, baking and outdoor sports. Her favorite football team is the Georgia Bulldogs, and she takes her stand in our divided loyalties with a humor that only Kara can bring. We constantly remind her with a thankful smile that she is eccentric—and then she reminds us that it runs in the family… and that is said in a British accent just for kicks. She says that before she dies, she wants to learn how to tap dance like Shirley Temple.
Kara-isms:
“You’ve got to be kidding me…”
“It’s called gibberish… (and it actually sounds like Latin).”
“We’ve GOT to learn Spanish!”
“Do you realize…!?”
“Well, now we know.”
Kara, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Kara’s desire is to use music to bless and glorify the Lord throughout her life. Combined with this is her interest in languages, which she hopes to learn and incorporate in her life purpose.
What one thing would you share with others that has greatly impacted your life?
“Making a commitment to read the Bible all the way through, and sticking with it throughout the year. I think that by reading the Bible—in its entirety—the Lord hid His words in my heart and it’s easier for me to remember and meditate on them throughout the day.”
