Meet Chrissy:
As the oldest, Chrissy has a diligence that keeps us all together. Whether it’s organizing our schedule, helping us pack, waking us up every morning, or reminding us of the reason we do what we do. She is always at the front of the line to make the family successful, and sometimes is too serious for her own good.
She enjoys singing, writing, reading, fishing, baking, and decorating wedding cakes. With being the family’s secretary for the ministry, making sure the boys don’t forget their ties, sewing bridal gowns in town and writing an online Bible study, she stays happily busy and loves being home or on the road. Hospitality and hosting parties are some of her favorite fun activities, besides playing board games and volleyball. Though she says she doesn’t “get” football, she cheers for Georgia Tech while the rest of us explain to her that a touchdown is not a homerun.
Chrissy-isms:
“Sing out, y’all!”
“That is SO not a Chrissy-thing.”
“Bless their heart!”
“All is vain unless the Spirit of the Lord comes down…”
“Y’all wanna know what that word means?”
“You got a point.”
Chrissy, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Chrissy feels that her life purpose is to be centered around ministry, and wherever the Lord takes her in that direction she is willing to go. She has a calling in her heart to invest in the generation to come… and raise up the foundations of many godly generations while the Lord tarries His coming.
What one thing would you share with others that has greatly impacted your life?
“Most people ask me, ‘Do you and your siblings ever argue?’ and my answer usually surprises them. Because we are ten different people, naturally we have ten different personalities and opinions… so of course we have our moments of disagreement. But I will say, in gratefulness to the Lord and my parents, that those moments are few and far between, and even then we can’t stand to be at odds. Why? Because ever since we can remember, our parents would teach us that God had put us together as a family for a reason, and so we needed to learn to first be each other’s best friends. When we were little it was hard, and we didn’t want to ‘limit’ our best friends to our siblings. But now that we are older, we not only appreciate the wisdom, but see it in reward. We are truly best friends, and even though we have others outside the home with whom we fellowship, we have found that the best ones are the ones God put you by to begin with. He does all things well, and I’m so thankful for my siblings!”
